Creating a game

To initiate new game creation, tap the + button located at the bottom right corner of the game list in the Games section. This action brings up a form to enter game details and manage player invitations.

Fill in the required fields to outline your game:

Optionally, you can define a team format (Greensomes, Foresomes, Better Ball), though it's not required.

You are automatically listed as the first player if joining, and you can then tap + Invite Players to access a list of group members for invitations, with your Buddies appearing on top for easier selection. Note - You will only see group members for the group you have selected above. If you chose My Buddies as the group, you’ll see a list of all your Buddies from across your groups.

After picking invitees, hit Invite to include them. For My Buddies games, you’ll have the option to use Select all to quickly invite all your Buddies at once. To adjust invites before game creation, revisit + Invite Players for edits or additions. If you invite group members and then subsequently change the group before game creation then the previous invitees who are not also in the newly applied group will be removed automatically.

Note - Post-creation, invites can be added but not retracted.

By default, games are Public (open to all group members). To limit visibility, opt for a Private game in the Game Privacy section, restricting it to your invitees only.

If you choose My Buddies as the group during game creation then you will not see the game privacy options. The game will automatically be private, and will only be visible to those Buddies who have specifically been invited.

Finalise your game with the Create Game button once you're satisfied with all details, invitees, and privacy settings (if applicable). The game will then appear in the games list for the selected group or, in the case of My Buddies games, for your invited Buddies. Public group games will be visible to all group members, while private group games will only be accessible to the invitees.

When creating a game, tap on Choose game location.

In the Choose game location view, you have the choice to explore the Quick9 golf club database or view clubs you've marked as favourites.

To find a golf club, use the search bar to look up clubs by name. Once you locate the desired club, select the radio button next to its name to mark it as selected.

You can also designate any club as a favourite by tapping the star icon next to its name. We recommend favouriting your frequently played golf clubs/courses for easier selection. Favourites are always accessible within the Choose game location view.

When you're satisfied with the location, tap Done. This action will add the course to the Create a new game view.

If the desired golf club isn't listed, choose Add it manually at the bottom of the Choose game location view. Here, you can input the club's name, address, and optionally specify the particular course. After providing the necessary details, select Add game location to include the course in the Create a new game view.

Some golf club locations will have multiple courses. If you select a golf club location that has more than one course then you will also be asked to specify the course in the Create a new game view. Simply select the relevant course from the dropdown.

If the course was selected from the Quick9 database:

To change the game location during game creation, tap on Change next to the current location in the Create a new game view. This will open the Choose game location view, where you can search new golf club locations or select a different one from your favourites. Once you've made the desired change, simply tap Done to confirm the change.

If the course was added manually:

If you need to change a manually added game location, simply tap Remove next to the current location in the Create a new game view. This action will open the Choose game location view, allowing you to initiate the game location selection process from scratch.
