League creation
If you are a Group Admin then you can create a new league within the Leagues section by tapping the + button located at the bottom right corner of the league list, which will lead you to the Create a new league page.
Here's what you'll need to specify to establish your league:
- League Name: Decide on a unique name for your league.
- League location:
- Mixed courses: Select this option if you want qualifying games to be able to be played on various courses; or
- Specific course: Select this option f you want qualifying games to be played on specific courses. If you select this option then you will also need to choose the league location by searching by golf club name. See further details below👇🏻. Note - If a club has more than one course then you will also need to specify the course as well.
- Group: The group for which you wish to create the league. Note - If you are already in a filtered view for a group then the currently selected group will be automatically chosen when creating a league (but you can change this).
- League Duration: Set both the start and end dates for the league.
- Game Length: Choose between 9 or 18 holes for qualifying games.
- Player Categories: Select from Mixed, Juniors, Men, or Ladies.
- Scoring Format: Either Stableford or Strokeplay scoring.
- Game Privacy: Determine if qualifying games are to be Public only, or if Private games can also qualify.
- Your Participation: Indicate whether you'll join the league. Note - You can manage a league without playing in it.
After filling in all required league details, press the Create League button. This action will add your new league to the Leagues section and alert the relevant group members.
Choosing league location
Adding league location
If you are creating a league and you specify that the league will be played on a specific course, you must also tap on Choose league location to specify the location.
In the Choose league location view, you have the choice to explore the Quick9 golf club database or view clubs you've marked as favourites.
To find a golf club, use the search bar to look up clubs by name. Once you locate the desired club, select the checkbox next to its name to mark it as selected.
You can also designate any club as a favourite by tapping the star icon next to its name. We recommend favouriting your frequently played golf clubs/courses for easier selection. Favourites are always accessible within the Choose league location view.
When you're satisfied with the location, tap Done. This action will add the course to the Create a new league view.
Selecting course
Some golf club locations will have multiple courses. If you select a golf club location that has more than one course then you will also be asked to specify the course in the Create a new league view. Simply select the relevant course from the dropdown.
Changing selected location
To change the league location during league creation, tap on Change next to the current location in the Create a new league view. This will open the Choose league location view, where you can search new golf club locations or select a different one from your favourites. Once you've made the desired change, simply tap Done to confirm the change.
